What to Expect
Know Before You Go...
First Come First Serve Policy
All group fitness classes run on a first come first served policy. Supervisors will hand out passes based on who arrives and signs in first to each class. Once the maximum capacity is reached the class is full. "Booking" or "saving" a class on our MyWellness app does NOT guarantee a spot in any of our group fitness classes.
Fitness Pass Policy
Please sign-in at the front desk of the facility 15-20 minutes prior to the beginning of class. Upon signing in, you will be given your class pass that you must present to the instructor in order to gain entry into the class. Capacities vary across formats due to space and equipment limitations.
5 Minute Policy
Due to safety reasons, as well as ensuring all participants have an uninterrupted experience, no one will be able to join a fitness class 5 minutes after the scheduled start time.
Cell Phone Policy
For your safety, please refrain from talking or texting on your phone once class begins, and ensure that your phone is on silent.
Injury and Modification Policy
If you have any injuries or need a modification for a move, please talk to your instructor before class begins and let them know of any restrictions. They will be glad to assist you.
Proper footwear - closed toe, closed heel athletic shoes - are required during fitness classes. Five-finger shoes, boots, or sandals are not permitted. The only exception to this rule are mind/body classes such as Yoga and Pilates.
The most up-to-date class schedule will be posted online at fitness.appstate.edu and in our MyWellness app. Any classes with less than 3 people for 3 consecutive weeks will be taken off the schedule. Additionally, in cases of inclement weather group fitness classes will be suspended.
